Brushing teeth is an essential part of maintaining good oral hygiene, especially for children. However, it can often be a mundane and uninteresting task for them. TTONE seeks to change that by introducing an element of fun and entertainment into the brushing routine.
One of the unique features of TTONE is its ability to generate music as the child brushes. The replaceable brush head not only ensures hygiene but also comes with a new musical tune. This eco-friendly approach not only reduces waste but also keeps the child engaged and entertained. The music serves as a motivator, encouraging the child to brush for the recommended duration, while also allowing parents to monitor their child's brushing habits.
The technology behind TTONE is simple yet innovative. It utilizes a kinetic energy battery to power the toothbrush, eliminating the need for traditional batteries. The waterproof speaker ensures that the music plays smoothly even in wet conditions, making it safe for children to use during their daily brushing routine.
With dimensions of 30mm in width, 30mm in depth, and 140mm in height, TTONE is designed to be ergonomic and easy for children to hold and use. Its compact size makes it convenient for travel and storage.
The TTONE project, led by Nien-Fu Chen and Yui Komatsu, began in April 2012 and was completed in June 2012. The designers aimed to create a toothbrush that not only promotes dental hygiene but also adds an element of excitement to the daily routine of children.
TTONE has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Baby, Kids, and Children's Products category in 2013. This prestigious award acknowledges the creativity and ingenuity of the design, which incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology. TTONE contributes to improving the quality of life for children and making dental hygiene a more enjoyable experience.
TTONE is a testament to the power of design in transforming everyday tasks into engaging and interactive experiences. With its unique features and innovative technology, TTONE revolutionizes the way children approach dental hygiene, making it a fun and enjoyable part of their daily routine.
